3. How we collect personal data
We collect personal data through several channels:
- Directly from you when you complete contact forms, enrol in courses, register for events, subscribe to communications, or correspond with us by email or telephone.
- Automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse aiskillssg.pro. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- From third parties such as corporate sponsors enrolling employees, payment processors confirming transactions, and analytics providers aggregating website usage data.
4. Purposes of processing
We process your personal data for the following purposes, relying on consent, contractual necessity, legitimate interests, or legal obligation as appropriate under the PDPA:
- To respond to enquiries submitted through our website contact form or email.
- To process course enrolments, manage your participation in AI skills training programmes, and issue certificates of completion.
- To process payments and maintain financial records for accounting and tax compliance.
- To communicate with you about your enrolment, schedule changes, course materials, and alumni forum access.
- To improve our website, curriculum, and services based on aggregated usage analytics.
- To send marketing communications about new courses, events, and AI skills resources, where you have provided consent or where permitted by law.
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to regulatory requests, and protect our legal rights.
- To ensure the security of our website, systems, and physical premises at our Tanjong Pagar studio.
5. Legal basis for processing
Under the PDPA, we process personal data based on one or more of the following grounds: your consent (which may be withdrawn at any time subject to legal and contractual restrictions), performance of a contract with you (such as course enrolment terms), compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate business interests where these do not override your data protection rights.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we conduct balancing assessments to ensure our interests are not overridden by your privacy rights. Examples include maintaining website security, preventing fraud, improving our curriculum based on aggregated feedback, and communicating service updates to enrolled participants.
6. Disclosure of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share personal data with:
- Service providers who assist with website hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics, and customer relationship management, bound by confidentiality and data processing agreements.
- Professional advisers including lawyers, accountants, and auditors where necessary.
- Government authorities, regulators, or law enforcement when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
- Corporate clients who sponsor your enrolment, limited to information necessary to confirm participation and completion.
Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by the PDPA. This may include binding corporate rules, standard contractual clauses approved by relevant authorities, or your explicit consent for specific transfers where no other mechanism applies.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, and reporting requirements. Enrolment records and course completion data are typically retained for seven years. Marketing consent records are retained for the duration of consent plus two years. Contact form submissions are retained for three years unless a longer period is required for ongoing correspondence. Cookie consent preferences are stored for six months. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights under the PDPA
Subject to exceptions under Singapore law, you have the right to request access to personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data, withdraw consent for processing that relies on consent, and request information about how your personal data has been used or disclosed within the past year.
We may request proof of identity before responding to access or correction requests to protect your data from unauthorised disclosure. There is no fee for reasonable requests; however, we may charge a fee for manifestly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive requests as permitted under the PDPA.
9. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, secure storage practices, and staff training on data protection. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Employees and contractors with access to personal data receive regular training on PDPA obligations and are bound by confidentiality agreements. Access is granted on a need-to-know basis and reviewed periodically by management.
10. Children's data
Our services are designed for adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under eighteen years of age. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
11. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites including AI tool providers such as OpenAI, Microsoft, and Anthropic. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal data.
13. Data breach notification
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in significant harm to affected individuals, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore and affected individuals as required by the PDPA. Our notification will include the nature of the breach, the data involved, and the steps we are taking to address the incident and mitigate potential harm.
14. Do Not Call Registry
If you have registered your Singapore telephone number with the Do Not Call Registry, we will not send marketing messages to that number unless you have provided clear and unambiguous consent for such communications or where an existing business relationship exemption applies under the Spam Control Act and related regulations.
15. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. Course assessments and capstone evaluations involve human review by qualified instructors. Any analytics we employ relate to aggregated website usage and do not determine individual access to services.
16. International data transfers
Some of our service providers may process personal data on servers located outside Singapore, including in the United States, European Union, and other jurisdictions where our hosting, email, or analytics partners operate. When we transfer personal data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure that recipients provide a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA, including contractual clauses, adequacy assessments, or your explicit consent where required.
17. Marketing communications
We may send you information about new courses, alumni events, and AI skills resources if you have opted in to marketing communications or where permitted under applicable law. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also contact [email protected] at any time to withdraw marketing consent. Withdrawal does not affect transactional communications related to your enrolment or enquiries.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated via email or website notice where appropriate.
